In addition to so many of our wonderful skincare treatments, our most popular treatment is our medical microdermabrasion. Microdermabrasion has become very popular for so many reasons. The patients feel the results instantly, it smoothes out fine lines and large pores, it helps decrease hyperpigmentation which is brown spots, and it just really gives a nice skin polishing, exfoliating, and makes the skin feel super soft. And we always hear, I never thought that my skin could feel so amazing after one treatment.
Another medical treatment that we provide at Radiance is a variety of peels. One of our most popular peel is the lunchtime treatment. The reason for that is there’s no downtime, no redness, or actual peeling, but it’s a wonderful way to exfoliate the skin. We also offer a treatment called the Vitalize peel which incorporates vitamin A. It’s great for light brown spots, it’s good for aging, it’s good for just really waking the skin up and really bringing back the vitality. And if you want a little bit more of an intense treatment, Dr. Loverme can provide a blue peel for you. That does require that you stay around the house for about 5-7 days. There will be some redness, a lot of peeling, but the afterwards effects will be wonderful. Well worth it.

A neck lift is most commonly performed along with a face lift but it can also be done as an isolated procedure. There are many different grades of neck lifts which may entail liposuction of the neck as the only procedure, or it may entail tightening of the muscle and tightening of the skin which can be done with or without other facial procedures. Most patients recuperate very quickly. There may be bruising but this can usually be covered with makeup because the incisions are so small and hidden underneath the chin and behind the ears.

Blepharoplasty or eyelid lift is a surgery that we usually perform here in our accredited outpatient surgery facility. It can be combined with facelift or other facial procedures such as liposuction or a neck lift. It’s a procedure where the excess skin is removed from the upper eyelids and sometimes also fat. In the lower eyelids it’s very common to remove or to reposition the fat and to tighten the skin and the muscle to give a very natural, non-pulled type of appearance but a very refreshed look without excess skin hanging. At times when there is excessive excess skin it may be covered by insurance, but that would also require an ophthalmology exam and proof to the insurance company that your eyelids are actually impairing your vision.

Hello I’m Dr. Paul Loverme, and as a third generation physician and a second generation plastic surgeon, I bring a warm feeling to my practice, combined with high tech, safe, 21st century care. I’m committed to the highest standards of patient safety and patient care. I’m board-certified in plastic surgery and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. I’m also a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation. I’ve served as Chief of Plastic Surgery at Mountainside Hospital and as President of the New Jersey Society of Plastic Surgeons, the New Jersey chapter of the American College of Surgeons, and the Essex County Medical Society. As an Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery at UMDMJ I’ve been involved in teaching and training plastic surgeons since 1985.
It’s been a distinct honor for me to be named as a top doctor by Castle Connolly Guide, New York Magazine, New Jersey Monthly Magazine, New Jersey Life, and the Consumer Research Council’s Guide to America’s top surgeons.
One of the things that makes me very gratified is working with healing the children where we take care of children in this country as well as participate in missions to other countries like Kenya, El Salvador, and Ecuador, places that I’ve been in the last few years to help unfortunate children. I think the most gratifying part for me is working with people, meeting people, and helping them to meet their goals, something that I’ve been involved in for a long time because my father was a plastic surgeon and I sort of learned that very early in life and I really have a commitment to the patients and that’s why I’ve assembled a really great staff that we work with here and they’re all committed to the patients and to helping them, educate them, and having them meet their goals.

Brow lift is a procedure that I usually do endoscopically, meaning that I make very small incisions within the hairline so that they’re all hidden. Then we use a little camera to put in and can actually do the contouring of the forehead through these little incisions but actually under vision because of the camera. I will often take out a small portion of the corrugator muscle, which is the muscle that makes you frown, which really is a useless expression in most cases. To lift the forehead I use an endo tie, which is a great small new device that has small prongs on it that holds the brow in position. But within about 6 months it actually dissolves and at that time the brow is held naturally in that position and healed in that spot so that the endo tie is no longer necessary.

Mid face lift is a procedure that I use mostly in men and women around 35 to 50 who don’t yet need a full face lift. It really only treats the central portion of the face. So people that have jaw or neck problems would not be candidates for that procedure. To do a mid face lift the incisions are hidden inside the mouth and in the hairline, and what I do is use an endo tie which is a great little device with some small prongs that substitutes for suture, that goes inside the mouth and holds the tissue up into a new position. It actually in about 6 months will dissolve but by that time all of the tissues are healed in their new position so it’s unnecessary. This avoids having a permanent implant in place.
One of the other times that I also do this procedure is in women that have had face lifts in some of the older styles where they don’t look as natural and they may have a lot of flattening in the mid face, and then this is a great isolated procedure to give them some more fullness and a natural look in the central portion of their face because that’s really what determines youth and beauty is a full central portion of the face.
