Eyelid Lift
Eyelid lift (or blepharoplasty) is the preferred treatment for removing bags under the eyes or drooping eyelids, conditions that can add years to your appearance and even impair your vision.
Eyelid surgery may be performed under local anesthesia and sedation. Dr. LoVerme will make incisions along the natural lines of your eyelids, through which excess fat, skin and muscle are removed. Skin and muscles can be tightened to smooth the lower eyelid.
Most patients are back to their normal routines within days, although complete recovery may take a few weeks. Swelling, and bruising and some discomfort are part of the recovery process, and usually can be alleviated with cold compresses and appropriate medication.
If there are bags without excess skin, an incision can be made inside the eyelid to remove fat pads, leaving no visible scar. Often, the Active FX LASER or the Lux2940 Fractional Laser is used in combination with this trans-conjunctival lift to tighten skin and avoid an incision and scar.
