Facelift Surgery - Serving New Jersey & New York

"Putting the lift back in facelift"
(The Short Omega Scar, Ogee Lift & MACS lift)

The history of facial rejuvenation surgery has largely involved the manipulation of facial soft tissues under tension. The result is always tighter, but not necessarily younger. The youthful, beautiful face is curvilinear, not flat. Tightness occurs only in the post-surgical face, not in the normal aged or youthful face. Fullness and convexity of the upper face and the absence of jowls, with a smooth tight neck is an indication of health, vitality, beauty and youth.

Look at pictures of yourself at age 20 or 30 - cheeks are full, lower eyelids are short and your neck is flat, with a well-defined jaw-line. That's what a facelift should achieve at our New Jersey center - not tension, which is what Dr. LoVerme calls the "wind-tunnel" appearance. Traditional, two-dimensional manipulations of the aging face are inadequate for the complex, three-dimensional demands of a youthful result. The Ogee Lift is the first major advancement since facelift surgery was first described in 1920.

One type of facelift procedure we perform for New Jersey and New York area residents is the Ogee Lift. The Ogee Lift raises the soft tissues of the lower face back to their youthful position in the midface (cheeks) and raises the corners of the mouth without a stretching appearance. And, it is done with an Omega incision, concealing the scar behind the ear so that hair can be worn up or short and no scar or hairline abnormality is visible behind the ear. It is an excellent facelift procedure for men, too. While swelling may last longer, results are vastly improved.

Another type facelift performed by Dr, LoVerme is the MACS lift. In selected patients, this procedure lifts the midface, jowls and neck with shorter incisions and less recovery time. SMAS modification is another important technique Dr. LoVerme uses to lift the face's sagging muscles as well as the skin.

Dr. LoVerme is one of the few surgeons who perform Ogee facelift in the New York and New Jersey area. Castle-Cannolly Guide and New York Magazine have listed him in the Top Doctors in the New York Metro area.

"21st Century Facelift"
(New Jersey Monthly July Healthcare)

A facelift is not what it used to be, at least not in the hands of Paul J. LoVerme, MD, a board-certified plastic surgeon and founder of the LoVerme Center for Plastic Surgery in Verona. "The number one difference is that tightness is out," he explains. Instead, the rounded cheeks of youth are in. The Ogee facelift will lift your cheeks and restore the roundness to the middle of your face. SMAS modification is another important technique Dr. LoVerme uses to lift the face's sagging muscles as well as the skin. Tisseel or fibrin glue is another component of good facelift, he counsels. "It promotes healing, decreases bruising and gets people back to their normal routines faster." And finally, your neck should be smooth and tight. "Tightening the muscles underneath the skin of your neck to give a good contour to your jaw line is the last essential element of your facelift."
