In contrast to burning, shattering, or extracting fat cells through surgical means, CoolSculpting® employs a targeted cooling process called cryolipolysis that literally freezes fat cells to the point of elimination without damaging surrounding healthy tissues. Once frozen, the fat cells die and exit the body through natural processes. In just one treatment session, Dr. LoVerme notes that about 20-25% of targeted fat cells can be eliminated.
“Ultimately,” Dr. LoVerme concludes the former of the two blog posts, “it is important to note that CoolSculpting® is not a weight loss solution for people who are overweight; however, it can be a very effective option for patients at or close to their ideal weight who are interested in addressing stubborn fat pockets around the midsection.”
