The latest study from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) lists breast augmentation as the most popular cosmetic surgical procedure in 2010, with more than 318,000 procedures performed. At the LoVerme Center for Plastic Surgery, Dr. Paul LoVerme says he and his staff experienced similar statistics for breast augmentation in New Jersey. “As the safety of silicone implants has been established, more women are opting to enhance their breasts.”
According to the latest statistics from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), more than 9.3 million cosmetic enhancement procedures were performed in 2010. The most popular procedure was breast augmentation, a statistic that New Jersey plastic surgeon Dr. Paul LoVerme says was also reflected in the number of procedures performed at the LoVerme Center for Plastic Surgery.
As demand for plastic surgery increased almost 9% in 2010, Dr. LoVerme says the fact that breast augmentation was the most common surgical procedure comes as no surprise. “Initially, the rise in breast augmentation procedures was hampered by health concerns about silicone implants, and wrinkling in saline implants. However, the FDA has recently reaffirmed the safety of silicone gel implants.”
Despite the fact that breast augmentation accounted for nearly 20% of the total number of surgical procedures in 2010, Dr. LoVerme says he expects that number to increase in 2011. “The growing popularity of the mommy makeover will have an impact on the number of breast augmentation procedures as many mature women want to enhance their breasts to appear younger and reflect their pre-baby size and shape.”

You’ve gotten the shopping done-bathing suits, sunglasses, shorts, killer sandals and beach badges. Sunscreen??
One of the most important things you can do for yourself and your family this summer is to use sunscreen. The sun is dangerous. Yes, dangerous! Repeated sun exposure can cause skin cancer, brown spots and (OMG!) wrinkles. Sun protection is even more important for men. In fact, men over 50 are more than twice as likely to develop basal and squamous cell skin cancers. Men are spending more time in the sun than women, but are less likely to use sunscreen. The combination of exposure and neglect is especially dangerous when it comes to melanoma. I’ve operated on 2 men with melanoma on the ear in the month of June!
Doctors worldwide recommend: Protect. Prevent. Correct. Get Checked.

Protect – Did I mention Sunscreen? Skinceuticals makes it so easy, they offer silky, sheer Physical Fusion SPF 50 in tinted and untinted. It is so light that you can use it as your base. If you think SPF 50 is too high, think again. They also make a SPF 30 and a sport SPF 45. All have transparent zinc oxide and protect against UVA & UVB. And don’t forget to put it on your ears – probably the most forgotten area when applying sunscreen.
Prevent – Antioxidants. Even the best sunscreens can’t block all the damaging free radicals from the sun. SkinCeuticals C-serums and Phloretin are clinically proven to prevent environmental aging. And used together with sunscreen – WOW – it’s the ultimate protection.
Correct – Retin-A, hydroquinones (Obagi Clear and Blender), Phyto corrective gel and pigment regulator. Speak to Dr LoVerme or our certified aestheticians about which is best for you.
Get Checked – If you have something suspicious call our office. I’ll take a look.

New Jersey Plastic Surgery Operating Room Certified for 10th Year
Dr. Paul LoVerme’s New Jersey plastic surgery practice has been certified by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF) for the 10th year in a row. Dr. LoVerme says the AAAASF certification is important because patients appreciate the increased safety, as well as the privacy and convenience provided by the in-office operating room as they undergo procedures ranging from facelifts to breast augmentation in New Jersey.
Dr. Paul LoVerme is a 2nd generation plastic surgeon in New Jersey. For the 10th consecutive year, the operating room at The LoVerme Center for Plastic Surgery has been certified by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities. The AAAASF is a non-profit organization that monitors same-day operating rooms in offices, hospitals, and outpatient surgery centers to ensure the highest standards of patient safety are maintained. Dr. LoVerme says the ability to offer patients in-office surgical facilities carries a range of benefits his patients appreciate, with increased safety, privacy, and convenience the most commonly cited.
Dr. LoVerme says studies have shown in-office operating rooms expose patients to fewer germs and bacteria when compared to hospital rooms. He adds that regardless of whether he is performing breast augmentation, liposuction or other surgical procedures, this fact alone is important because patient safety is the top priority at The LoVerme Center.
The LoVerme Center staff remains committed to the preservation of the guidelines set forth by the AAAASF because their patients appreciate the increased safety provided by the facility, as well as the added privacy and convenience provided by the in-office operating room. As Dr. LoVerme continues to stress the importance of patient care and overall effectiveness while performing procedures ranging from breast augmentation to liposuction in New Jersey, he says the certification plays an integral role in being able to provide those services for his patients.

More than half of all Americans now approve of cosmetic surgery, following a 9% increase in cosmetic surgical procedures performed in 2010 compared to the previous year. New Jersey plastic surgeon Dr. Paul LoVerme is announcing springtime breast augmentation, body contouring, and facial rejuvenation specials designed to help his patients prepare for the summer season to address this increase in demand and answer what he sees as a growing desire for natural-looking aesthetic enhancement.
More than 9.3 million cosmetic procedures were performed in 2010 as more than half of Americans now approve of cosmetic surgery, according to the latest statistics from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). With demand for surgical cosmetic procedures increasing more than 9% in 2010, Dr. Paul LoVerme is announcing springtime specials on silicone implants for breast augmentation, body contouring, and facial rejuvenation at his New Jersey plastic surgery practice.
As a board-certified plastic surgeon in New Jersey, Dr. LoVerme says he blends the art and science required of cosmetic surgery to enhance the natural aesthetics of his patients. Whether he is performing non-invasive facial rejuvenation, or surgical procedures such as liposuction and breast augmentation in New Jersey, Dr. LoVerme says a patient-first approach means matching surgical expertise and skill to the each patient’s aesthetic enhancement goals.
With summer fast approaching, Dr. LoVerme says he designed the breast augmentation and liposuction springtime specials to address the time-sensitive goals often associated with this time of year. Considering the latest statistics from ASAPS, he adds that he expects to see an even greater increase in the number of procedures his practice traditionally sees at this time of year as more and more Americans approve of aesthetic enhancement.
