JUVÉDERM®

JUVÉDERM® – The Long Lasting Non Surgical Option for All Skin Tones

Our skin changes during the body’s natural aging process. As we get older, we lose the biological components that help retain the volume and elasticity in our skin. Youthful smoothness begins to diminish and wrinkles and creases form. Although at different rates, it happens to everyone, regardless of skin type. Luckily, for those wanting to turn back the hands of time without surgery, there is the innovative dermal filler JUVÉDERM® injectable gel!

JUVÉDERM® Treatment

JVD_XC_4cFrom the creators of BOTOX®, JUVÉDERM® was developed to fill in and augment the treatment area and smooth moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. It is the first FDA-approved hyaluronic acid dermal filler proven safe and effective for persons of color. Studies with JUVÉDERM® have shown no increased risk of hyperpigmentation or hypertrophic scarring in patients of color. In addition to its compatibility with varied skin tones, it is among the longest lasting hyaluronic acid fillers. These two unique benefits make JUVÉDERM® the obvious choice for many patients.

All products in the JUVÉDERM® family are smooth consistency gels made of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid occurs organically in your body and plays a vital role in hydrating the skin and replenishing its natural volume. JUVÉDERM®’s special manufacturing process provides a higher concentration of hyaluronic acid than found in its natural state. This altered formula enables longer lasting results. The production method used also creates a smooth consistency gel that flows easily into the skin providing a smooth, natural look and feel. Because it is a synthetically derived hyaluronic acid and not an animal derived product, no allergy skin tests are needed prior to receiving treatment.

The JUVÉDERM® Family of Dermal Fillers

Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are the fastest growing nonsurgical aesthetic procedure in the United States, according to the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. However, because each patient’s enhancement needs are different JUVÉDERM® injectable gel is available in several formulations: JUVÉDERM® XC, JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC, JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA XC, and JUVÉDERM® VOLBELLA. Each of these dermal fillers is specially formulated for a distinct purpose and/or region of the face:

  • JUVÉDERM® XC – Treats severe to moderate lines, wrinkles, and folds in the face.
  • JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC – Plumps and adds fullness to thin lips, nasolabial folds & deep wrinkles.
  • JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA XC – Adds volume, lift, and contour to the cheeks and mid-face.
  • JUVÉDERM® VOLBELLA – Provides smooth, subtle volume to thin and/or aging lips, as well as reduction of fine lines and wrinkles around the lips and mouth.

Juvederm® Results

With JUVÉDERM® dermal fillers the injection process is quick and easy, generally taking only about 15 minutes. Using a fine needle, the gel is injected under the skin in the designated treatment area, producing immediate results. Dr. Paul LoVerme also uses a fine, blunt needle (often referred to as a cannula) to decrease the risk of bruising and afford a more comfortable experience. There is also minimal recovery time, which allows patients to rejoin their regular activities soon after the procedure is completed.

Rebecca-Side-by-Side

The results you achieve will depend upon the JUVÉDERM® product you are treated with and the skill of the injector. Dr. LoVerme is certified as an Expert Injector and has been using dermal fillers for over 25 years. He has achieved a platinum level with Allergan, the makers of Botox® and JUVÉDERM®. Whereas the results of JUVÉDERM® XC, JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC, and JUVÉDERM® VOLBELLA can last up to a year or more, JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA XC can last up to two years or more. Most patients only need one treatment to achieve optimal results, however an initial touch-up treatment may help you attain the precise look you desire. To maintain the consistency of your results, Dr. LoVerme will suggest an ideal time frame for scheduling a follow-up treatment.
