Sculptra® Aesthetic

Sculptra® Aesthetic is an innovative injectable volumizing agent available from plastic surgeon Dr. Paul LoVerme that can address a “hollow” appearance in certain facial features. The treatment can also be useful for smoothing away lines and wrinkles along the face. Sculptra® Aesthetic is approved by the FDA to treat lipoatrophy (facial fat loss), a condition which can cause a hollowed or “sunken” appearance in areas such as the cheeks, temples, chin, and around the eyes.

Sculptra® Aesthetic is composed of a synthetic, biocompatible substance that stimulates the growth of new collagen in the treatment areas. This procedure is very effective at replenishing lost facial volume and giving you a healthier, more youthful appearance. Plus, Sculptra® Aesthetic’s unique makeup allows it to create extraordinarily long-lasting and natural-looking results.

Sculptra® Aesthetic Treatment

There is no need for an allergy test prior to treatment with Sculptra® Aesthetic. The solution will be injected into the areas targeted for treatment. The solution contains Xylocaine to minimize discomfort. The procedure takes about 30 minutes or less, depending upon your unique needs and goals. A series of Sculptra® Aesthetic treatments will be necessary to yield the best possible effects.

Sculptra® Aesthetic Results

While there will likely be some mild swelling and redness in the treatment areas after the Sculptra® Aesthetic procedure, most patients are able to resume normal daily activities immediately. As the collagen continues to regenerate and replenish the skin, the effects of Sculptra® Aesthetic should become more and more apparent in the days, weeks, and months following treatment. This particular injectable procedure is known for the longevity of its effects – in fact, many patients experience the results of Sculptra® Aesthetic for up to three years or more. Occasional “touch-up” treatments can keep the effects going for an even longer period of time.
