New Jersey Plastic Surgeon Joins AAAASF Board of Directors
Dr. Paul LoVerme has been elected to serve on the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgical Facilities, Inc. Board of Directors.
Verona, NJ — New Jersey plastic surgeon Paul LoVerme, MD was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgical Facilities, Inc. (AAAASF), marking his first of three potential terms as a member of the directorate. A former auditor for the organization, Dr. LoVerme will now be focusing primarily on marketing, website development and accreditation for AAAASF while helping to foster the association’s mission of improving patient care and safety in non-hospital-affiliated surgical facilities worldwide.
Founded in 1980, AAAASF provides accreditation to independent and/or office-based surgery centers that meet and maintain several strict standards of safety and care. The non-profit organization works to standardize medical and surgical care in plastic surgery, oral and maxillofacial surgery, ophthalmology, gastroenterology, and anesthesiology facilities, as well as government rural health clinics and various other outpatient establishments in the United States. Additionally, AAAASF has an international arm extending into 19 different countries throughout North and South America, Europe, Africa, and Australia.
Regarding his new position on the Board of Directors, Dr. LoVerme says he is thrilled to help continue the forward progression of AAAASF. “This new role is a recognition of leadership, as well as an acknowledgment of work I’ve already done for the association, and I’m excited to be a part of the team designated to strengthen the organization’s cause and further enhance the quality of medical and surgical care patients receive around the world.”
About Paul LoVerme, MD
Dr. LoVerme graduated from Boston University prior to obtaining his medical degree from UMDNJ – New Jersey Medical School. He later went on to complete his General Surgery residency at UMDNJ, followed by his Plastic Surgery residency at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo.
