Plastic Surgeon in New Jersey Now Offering Dermal Fillers with 3D Imaging
Verona, NJ — Paul LoVerme, MD is introducing Vectra 3D imaging for New Jersey plastic surgery patients considering injectable dermal fillers. While this type of technology has been used to show patients what they can expect from a cosmetic plastic surgery procedure such as breast augmentation or liposuction, Dr. LoVerme says the new approach to using the Vectra 3D system can help patients envision the outcome of their facial procedure as well. He adds that this additional step in the consultation process further improves the patient-doctor relationship because patients are not only able to envision the final result, but also able to discuss and adjust their expectations and goals for such a procedure.
Soft tissue, hyaluronic acid dermal fillers such as Juvederm® were the second most popular non-surgical enhancement in 2011 according to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). As patients are most often looking for a subtle enhancement to help rejuvenate their appearance without looking overdone, New Jersey plastic surgeon Dr. LoVerme says his experience with the Vectra 3D imaging process helps alleviate these concerns: “With the increased demand for more non-surgical procedures and the introduction of the latest dermal fillers, it is the responsibility of the surgeon to establish realistic treatment goals and manage patient expectations. Through the consultation with the Vectra 3D system, Dr. LoVerme says he is also able to better determine the appropriate amount of a dermal filler that will be required to achieve the appearance the patient desires: “Using a series of six specialized camera lenses, strobes, and the most sophisticated software, we can now capture images of facial features and measure specifically how much volume is needed to create the desired result.”
The system generates an infinite number of views including a 3D mold of the patient’s face that allows the surgeon to see below the surface of the skin to accurately determine the contours of the face. As patients consider and prepare for cosmetic enhancement procedures such as Juvederm®, Dr. LoVerme says they appreciate the increased level of comfort the 3D imaging process provides. While nationwide, only roughly 150 plastic surgeons use the Vectra 3D system, he states it is very accurate, and adds that he expects the popularity of this approach to increase as more patients and surgeons become familiar with the technology.

Plastic Surgeon in New Jersey Offering Ultherapy for Skin Tightening
