June is National Safety Month. As a member of the national plastic surgery society - The American Society of Plastic Surgeons - Dr. LoVerme is urging you to help reduce devastating lawn mower-related injuries by forwarding the video, “When Lawn Mowers Attack,” to friends, and family members.
Lawn mowers are dangerous tools, not toys. The best way to prevent a problem is to create awareness. Send this warning on to as many people as possible. Don’t let someone you know or love become a statistic.
Lawn mowers don’t “attack” on their own. Most injuries - such as severed fingers and toes, limb amputations, broken bones, burns and eye injuries - can be prevented by following a few simple safety tips.
* Children should be 12-years-old before they operate any lawn mower, and 16-years-old for a ride-on mower.
* Children should never be passengers on ride-on mowers.
* Pick up stones, toys and debris from the lawn to prevent injuries from flying objects.

We are proud to be one of the first New Jersey plastic surgery practices to offer this new revolutionary procedure for lip enhancement. Unlike traditional injectable fillers used in the past, PermaLip™ is permanent and does not require re-treatment!
PermaLip™ is an implant made of a soft solid silicone which gives a natural look and feel without the worry of leaking or rupturing. The implant is tapered on each side to follow the natural contour of the lips which results in a more natural appearance that does not look “overly done”.
Although patients experience dramatic results, PermaLip™ Lip Enhancement is a simple, safe procedure to perform. Dr. LoVerme will administer local anesthetic to your mouth and lips so you will not experience any discomfort. The implants are placed through tiny incision in the corners of the mouth and centered into place. The procedure is usually completed in about an hour and you will be able to resume normal activity the next day.
“After years of living with thin (almost nonexistent) lips, I came across a wonderful procedure which has changed my life. I couldn’t believe that in just under an hour, I would have fuller, natural looking and feeling lips which are permanent! My boyfriend and I highly recommend the PermaLip™ implant. I just can’t believe how real my lips look and feel!”

In addition to so many of our wonderful skincare treatments, our most popular treatment is our medical microdermabrasion. Microdermabrasion has become very popular for so many reasons. The patients feel the results instantly, it smoothes out fine lines and large pores, it helps decrease hyperpigmentation which is brown spots, and it just really gives a nice skin polishing, exfoliating, and makes the skin feel super soft. And we always hear, I never thought that my skin could feel so amazing after one treatment.
Another medical treatment that we provide at Radiance is a variety of peels. One of our most popular peel is the lunchtime treatment. The reason for that is there’s no downtime, no redness, or actual peeling, but it’s a wonderful way to exfoliate the skin. We also offer a treatment called the Vitalize peel which incorporates vitamin A. It’s great for light brown spots, it’s good for aging, it’s good for just really waking the skin up and really bringing back the vitality. And if you want a little bit more of an intense treatment, Dr. Loverme can provide a blue peel for you. That does require that you stay around the house for about 5-7 days. There will be some redness, a lot of peeling, but the afterwards effects will be wonderful. Well worth it.

A neck lift is most commonly performed along with a face lift but it can also be done as an isolated procedure. There are many different grades of neck lifts which may entail liposuction of the neck as the only procedure, or it may entail tightening of the muscle and tightening of the skin which can be done with or without other facial procedures. Most patients recuperate very quickly. There may be bruising but this can usually be covered with makeup because the incisions are so small and hidden underneath the chin and behind the ears.

Blepharoplasty or eyelid lift is a surgery that we usually perform here in our accredited outpatient surgery facility. It can be combined with facelift or other facial procedures such as liposuction or a neck lift. It’s a procedure where the excess skin is removed from the upper eyelids and sometimes also fat. In the lower eyelids it’s very common to remove or to reposition the fat and to tighten the skin and the muscle to give a very natural, non-pulled type of appearance but a very refreshed look without excess skin hanging. At times when there is excessive excess skin it may be covered by insurance, but that would also require an ophthalmology exam and proof to the insurance company that your eyelids are actually impairing your vision.
